Is that your Explorer or a rental? How do you like it? I’m a huge fan of the new Explorers.

It’s my dads girlfriends Explorer, it was way better than my car but I was a little underwhelmed, there was a lot of freeway noise from the suspension and wind. Also something was rattling somewhere in the center stack and my butt got sore after about 3 hours. It handled good for what it is. Having driven a traverse on another road trip this was definitely better but I would also take a good look at the Durango because while I haven't driven one I've ridden in one and it was pretty good.

Did you see any UFOs?

All the rental Fords I have had do this thing where they seem to kick up the rpms between shifts regardless of letting off throttle. Does it do that or am I crazy?

Unfortunately no

It wasn't a rental but it did seem to shift a little weird

Do you know why she chose it? This and the Durango are about the only crossovers that seem cool and performance oriented even with 3 rows. Even BMW and Porsche haven’t made 3 row exclusive models because they don’t know how to keep the performance aura around them. But Explorer and Durango just do it.

Durangoes are actual body-on-frame SUVs though.

She's a ford accountant and it's a special employee only lease deal

This is true and one of the reasons I would prefer the Durango

Not a question, but that's actually a really cool picture.

Thanks, I took it with my iPhone but I've been wanting to get a dslr for a while but don't have the money for it yet. (I'm in college and am saving for a better car first)
